More fences installed at Albion Falls after another hiker had to be rescued

More fencing went up Monday at Albion Falls to prevent people from getting to the bottom of the waterfall. This comes a day after another person needed to be rescued.

The city is currently thinking about putting another viewing point in place but many say the view doesn’t cut it, they want to get to the bottom. People at Albion Falls today say a safe staircase down would be better than fences.

“It could be upwards of a million dollars to put in a safe stairwell and viewing platforms. It’s on the table but that would be a future consideration.” Kara Bunn, City of Hamilton.

The city will be discussing whether trespassers who hop over the fences should be fined this Thursday.
