Federal Conservatives fined
The Conservative Party and its fundraising body have pled guilty and will pay fines over charges of exceeding campaign spending limits in 2006, and for failing to report all expenses.
The plea agreement means charges against four individuals including two senators are dropped.

The party has agreed it should pay $50,000 dollars for the two counts and the Conservative Fund will pay $2,000.
Conservative Senators Irving Gerstein and Doug Finley, and party officers Mike Donison and Susan Kehoe were charged earlier this year with wilfully violating the party’s spending limit the 2006 campaign which saw Stephen Harper win power.
