February is Black History Month

Today marks the first day of a month-long commemoration of the history and contributions of Black communities across the globe.

February first kicks off Black History Month, and more nations are beginning to recognize the annual observance that began in the United States.

This year’s themes centre around Black Americans and their achievements in the arts.

This year also focuses on the future of Black communities, and how there’s a need to address more contemporary issues like employment, housing, and health care.
