Father and son hospitalized after ATV crash in Welland

A 46-year-old man and his 9-year-old son were hospitalized Friday after the ATV they were riding crashed and rolled in a park in Welland.
Niagara police say they are investigating the incident which happened at Memorial Park around 2:40 p.m.
Officers say the man was driving the vehicle with the boy as a passenger when they lost control and rolled.
The 46-year-old man is reportedly suffering from life-threatening injuries while his son, the 9-year-old boy, has since been released from hospital.

The collision reconstruction unit as well as the forensic services unit are assisting Niagara police with the investigation.
Police closed the park as well as a portion of Memorial Park Drive for several hours while investigators assess the scene.
