Fatal freight train crash in Brampton

One person is dead and another has been airlifted to Toronto trauma unit with life threatening injuries after a freight train crash in Brampton.
Around 10:30 am this morning a car was thrown several metres down a railway track when it was hit by a freight train at a railway crossing. Constable Mark Fisher says the lights at the railway crossing appeared to be working during the time of the crash, and the road conditions were dry.
A spokesperson with Peel Regional Police said that the train was not carrying any hazardous materials.
The Friday morning crash comes just days after two women were killed when the car they were in was hit by a passenger train at a railway crossing east of Chatham.
