Father of two killed in West Lincoln crash

(Update)
A 38-year old Beamsville man was killed early this morning when the pickup he was driving veered off the road and slammed into a tree in West Lincoln.
The driver was thrown from the truck. But it was only after the sun came up that the crash scene was discovered and reported to police.
Mark McIntee was driving northbound on Silverdale in West Lincoln when the pickup he was driving veered off the roadway. Looking at the mangled wreckage, you can see the impact was catastrophic.
Detective Adam Carter, Niagara Regional Police: “It was definitely quite severe. It came into collision with one of the trees as it entered the ditch. The vehicle rolled over an undetermined number of times. The male was ejected from the motor vehicle. He passed away at the scene.”
McIntee’s body was found in the marsh near the vehicle.
The pickup was so smashed up investigators couldn’t tell by looking at it whether or not the driver was wearing a seatbelt. They brought in the K-9 unit to search for other possible victims, but found no one.”
The wreckage is going to be examined further by collision reconstruction officers. An autopsy will be performed on McIntee’s body.
Mark McIntee was driving the Charlie Bee Honey Company vehicle. He’d worked for Charlie Bee off and on since he was 14-years old. He lived in a home on the Charlie Bee property. He borrowed the company pickup last night. It’s not clear why he was out on the road at 3:00 in the morning.
Investigators say speed was definitely a factor in this fatal collision. And they’re also looking at anything else that may have contributed to it. Meanwhile, Mark McIntee leaves behind two children.
