Fatal crash on 403 in Brantford

An update on the road closure at a fatal single vehicle crash on highway 403 in Brantford.

Witnesses say a person was thrown from a car that went off the highway and rolled into a ditch in the east bound lanes of the 403 between Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Garden Avenue. It happened about 6:30 this morning.

One lane of the east bound lanes has now re-opened at the Wayne Gretzky Parkway, however, you cannot get onto the highway at Garden.

Police have not released the identity of the victim, nor an explanation of what caused the woman to swerve off the highway.
