Fatal crash in Brantford under investigation: SIU

The SIU has been called in to investigate a single-vehicle collision in Brantford that took the life of a 21-year-old man.

According to the report, at around 3 a.m. this morning, the driver fled from a Brantford police officer trying to stop him for speeding.

The investigation says the same car was later spotted by an OPP officer who ended up losing sight of it after following it on Brant Ave.

The collision then happened in the Brant Ave. and Ava Rd. area where another Brantford police observed the vehicle crashing and being engulfed in flames, according to the SIU.

Identity of the man has not yet been revealed by the police.
