Woman killed in fire at Burlington high-rise building

One woman was killed in a fire in a Burlington high rise.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at 480 Maple Avenue at around 2:30 pm on Sunday.

Residents of the building say heavy black smoke was seen filling the unit on the fifth floor of the building.

Fire officials say, the woman killed, was in a wheelchair. As crews put out the fire, the other residents were sheltered in a bus to keep warm.
