Facebook launches new dating feature

Social media giant Facebook is hoping to make some of its users more than just friends. Facebook says over 200 million of its users worldwide identify as being single.
On Thursday, the company launched a new dating feature in Canada.
The dating feature is separate from a users current Facebook profile. It’s a second profile of sorts that Facebook says is kept private and is created just for dating.
Matchmaker Laura Bilotta says it might be a hit with older people.
“Facebook already attracts an older demographic and I think the younger generation might have a difficult time using a dating app where there parents might be,” said Bilotta.
Users have to answer questions about themselves and post pictures. Only the persons first name and age would be seen. Facebook says the feature will connect people with common interests based on social media likes and groups.
