A severe thunderstorm hit southern Ontario and produced torrential rains, flash floods, and power outages.

In Waterdown, firefighters were called to Dundas street in the Sobeys plaza for reports of flooding. The slow-moving severe thunderstorm dumped between 50 and 100 millimeters of rain or more in Waterdown.

The video was posted on social media showing other areas in Waterdown that were hit hard by the rain. The memorial park was completely flooded in the torrential downpour and people in the area say the rain continued for two hours.

On the Hamilton mountain residents were out assessing the damage after the storm passed. The storm also caused power outages in Ancaster.
