A former Hamilton city councillor has joined the race for mayor.

Don Ross has submitted his papers for the mayor’s chair. Ross served on city and regional council from 1985 to 1997, when he returned to the private sector.

Ross says job creation in the private sector is one of his top priorities. He’s also against de-amalgamation, and believes council should be building on the positive aspects of the communities that make up Hamilton.

So far, Brian McHattie is the only other contender in the race for Hamilton’s top job.
