Ex-boyfriend charged with second-degree murder in death of Holly Hamilton

Update: Post Mortem results determined Holly Hamilton was stabbed to death.
Police have charged the ex-boyfriend of a slain Hamilton woman in connection with her death.
Justin Dumpfrey, 30, appeared in court shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday and was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Holly Hamilton.
He was arrested Wednesday at John Sopinka Courthouse after he made an appearance on unrelated charges.
Hamilton, 29, was reported missing on Monday by her family. Her body was found around 1 p.m. Wednesday inside the trunk of her white Ford Escort in an underground parking garage at 95 Barlake Ave.
Hamilton police held a news conference Thursday afternoon and said they received a number of tips from the general public, however, Hamilton’s vehicle was located by officers patrolling the city’s east end.
Police would not say how she was killed but they believe she was deceased for “some time” before her body was found. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Sgt. Dave Olenuik said police had previously been involved in Dumpfrey and Hamilton’s relationship as a result of violence and the 30-year-old was charged. Dumpfrey is the father to Hamilton’s young daughter.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 24 via video feed.
