Etobicoke man charged with more sexual assault counts following December arrest

Halton police have laid additional charges against an Etobicoke man charged with sexual assault in December of last year.
Officers first arrested Masoud Abdulla on Dec. 16 and charged him with sexual interference, sexual assault and “obtaining sexual services for consideration and luring by telecommunications.”
As a result of the original arrest in which police believed that there were more victims they received information that led to a separate investigation earlier this month.

On April 22 Abdulla was arrested in Oakville and charged with luring, sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
Police say that similar to the previous investigation, the accused used social media to initially connect with a 13-year-old girl and “fostered a relationship that lasted multiple years.”
Abdulla communicated with the victim through Facebook, Snapchat and text messages. Police say he picked the victim up away from her home so her guardians were unaware of the relationship.
The offences took place throughout Halton, Niagara and Toronto.
Investigators continue to believe there are additional victims and say that Abdulla used the handles of “Anwar Nyce” and “tsmith9423” online.
Anyone with information, or anyone who has been victimized by him, is asked to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.
