Emmy-winning Hamilton director arrives home

It may involve basic math, but it’s part of an award-wining equation. The animated kid’s show “Peg + Cat” won three daytime Emmy awards yesterday, including outstanding preschool children’s animated program, and Hamilton director Cory Bobiak is fresh off the plane from accepting the award in Los Angeles.

“It was pretty surreal, like a giant expensive wedding. It was about 1,260 people in the audience,” said Bobiak.

The show teaches preschool children math in a creative way. It was up against some tough competition like Disney, but Bobiak credits “Peg + Cat’s” creative touches for winning the Emmys.

He says he draws inspiration from his two young kids who are pretty impressed with their dad’s award.

“I think it’s really cool. I don’t know why, but to see him the next morning after he won the Emmy. I was really surprised for my mom to tell me that,” said his daughter, Frankie.

“Peg + Cat” isn’t even through its first season, but with the newly-acquired hardware, Bobiak says the show has its fingers crossed that it will be making a second.

The reason Bobiak didn’t have the Emmy award at home is because the show’s creator took home the statue, however Bobiak will also get one. It’s currently being engraved and will be sent to him.
