Emergency test today

Don’t be alarmed if your phone goes off later today.

The Federal Emergency Management officials are testing a new National Public Alert System to give people a heads-up to threats like tornadoes, floods, amber alerts or terror attacks.

The test will target users in Ontario and Quebec, with most of the rest of the country receiving the signal on Wednesday.

The test signals are expected to be sent in Ontario just before 2pm Monday afternoon.
