Emergency at Mac? No, just a test

McMaster University is testing its emergency notification systems this morning.

Starting at about 11:20, anyone near campus may hear sirens and other alerts but should not take any action. Some of the tests involve the outdoor emergency siren system and verbal messages on outdoor assistance phones.

LCD screens around campus will also display visual and audible alerts, and all subscribers to the emergency mass notification system will receive text messages.

In a real emergency, sirens indicate the campus is in lockdown.
