With lower gas prices, it’s become a little more affordable to drive. However, Tesla the luxury electric car company is looking to attract a new demographic with a brand new affordable sedan.

Hundreds of people lined up for hours at Tesla dealerships across the globe to put $1000 down for the newest car that won’t be on the road for nearly two years. The Tesla model 3 is expected to sell for $35 000 U.S. before government rebates and has a range of 320km on one charge. Despite no one knowing what it looks like people can’t wait to hand over their money.

According to the Canadian Auto Dealers association, Canadians purchased a record 1.9 million cars in 2015, only 2% were electric.
