Elderly woman seriously injured after being hit by truck in Hamilton

Hamilton police are investigating after an elderly woman was struck by a truck in the city’s north end.

Officers were called to the intersection of Barton St. East and Lottridge St. at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the woman was struck by the vehicle just east of the intersection. She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has been called in to investigate.

The intersection is currently blocked off with police tape and will remain closed for several hours.
