Eiffel Tower workers on strike

A strike has shut down one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions. The union that represents most of the Eiffel Tower’s 300 workers called for a walk out this morning because of a dispute over pay raises and other issues.

A lot of visitors to the French capital were unhappy with the situation. An average of 25,000 people visit the tower everyday, and it’s not yet clear if the strike will move into a second day.

The tower is normally open 365 days a year.
