Edith Dumont to be sworn in as Ontario’s next lieutenant-governor

Edith Dumont will be sworn in as Ontario’s next lieutenant-governor on Nov. 14 during a ceremony at Queen’s Park.

Dumont will be the first francophone to hold this position.

Premier Doug Ford congratulated Dumont on Tuesday, saying he looks forward to working with her.

Elizabeth Dowdeswell, who has been serving as lieutenant-governor since 2014 will remain in office until then.
