Early morning fire in east Hamilton deemed suspicious: police

Police say an early morning fire at a commercial building in east Hamilton is being considered suspicious.
Officers were first called to the building at 1700 Brampton St. around 3 a.m. Thursday for reports of a break and enter in progress.
Police say they could see smoke coming from the building when they got to the scene and contacted Hamilton Fire.

Fire crews arrived and quickly worked to contain the blaze, upgraded the call to a first alarm structure fire.
Police have deemed the fire as suspicious and the arson unit is investigating. Officers were flying a drone in the area of Brampton St. in order to gather more information about this fire.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has also been notified.
