Early morning fire damages home in Oakville

An early morning fire has damaged a home in Oakville.

The Oakville Fire Department was called to a fire on Felhaber Crescent off of Eighth line on Saturday.

When crews arrived at around 1:45 a.m. they could see flames and smoke on the main floor.

According to people at the scene, a man was rescued from a second floor window by firefighters using a ladder.

He was taken to hospital by Halton paramedics for smoke inhalation.

One cat was rescued as well, and given oxygen by firefighters on the front lawn until the SPCA arrived.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. CHCH News has reached out for more information.
