Early counts show expected results in U.S. election

It’s election day in America. President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, are competing for the White House. President Donald Trump has won Kentucky and Joe Biden has carried Vermont. They are the first two states called in the election. Kentucky is reliably conservative, while Vermont is considered one of the most liberal states. Trump wins eight electoral votes from Kentucky, while Biden takes three for winning Vermont. Early results from Florida show a see-saw battle. Florida, along with Georgia, Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin are among the states that will help determine which candidate gets the 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
