E-bike driver seriously injured in downtown Hamilton collision

Hamilton police are investigating after the driver of an e-bike was seriously injured in a collision in the city’s downtown Friday.
Officers say the crash happened around 2 p.m. when the e-bike driving eastbound in the Cannon St. bike lane at Gibson Ave. collided with a pick-up truck attempting to turn left onto Cannon Street.
The driver of the e-bike, a 43-year-old man, was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital where he remains in critical, but stable condition.

Investigators say the driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and is cooperating with them.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the collision reconstruction unit was called in to conduct the investigation.
