A 21-year-old man from Dundas faces an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle crash that sent five people to hospital.

Police were called to the area of Mineral Springs Rd. and Binkley Rd. in Dundas around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The vehicle was crashed into a wooded area.

Five people, including the driver, were taken to hospital after being treated for non-life threatening injuries at the scene.

Police say one of the passengers was ejected and two people had to be extricated from the vehicle.

They say alcohol and speed were contributing factors in this crash.

The driver was arrested and has been charged operating a motor vehicle while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in court in August.
