‘Dundas Cactus Festival’ returns for its 48th year

The Dundas Cactus Festival kicked off its annual celebrations this weekend.

It happens every third weekend in August and is an entirely free event.

Residents took to King St. to enjoy inflatables, face painting, local music acts, vendors, and more.

The event got its infamous name in the 1970s when Dundas was the home to a prolific cactus greenhouse that was internationally recognized.

While the town was going through a slump, the greenhouse was one of the only things flourishing and organizers decided to capitalize on the theme.
