A Niagara Falls woman is dead after she was struck by a dump truck while crossing the street. Neighbours say she had just stepped out to get dinner when the tragedy happened.

42-year-old Candice Brisson’s life was cut short. The mother of two was walking her dog to Lococo’s, a grocery store on Victoria avenue and Ferguson street. Police say when she left the store she crossed over Victoria avenue, a street not controlled by a crosswalk or stop sign, that’s when she was hit by a dump truck. Brisson was taken by ambulance to hospital where she later died. Brisson leaves behind two children aged 13 and 20. Her family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs and vet bills.

No charges have been laid against the 27-year-old dump truck driver.
