Drunk driver sent to jail

A drunk driver who struck and killed a Hamilton student last September is heading to jail.

63 year old Angelo Epifani has been sentenced to four years in prison for the hit and run that killed 20 year old Columbia International College Student Jiao Shi Qi.

Police say Epifani struck the female student near Catherine Street and continued to head east on Main, slamming into signposts and running red lights.

His blood alcohol level was found to be more than twice the legal limit and he said didn’t remember hitting the girl.
