Driver killed after vehicle rolls over, catches fire in Hamilton

A 57-year-old man is dead following a fiery crash in Hamilton.
It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Regional Rd. 97 on Saturday.
Police say the man was driving eastbound approaching Hwy. 6 when his Dodge Caravan left the roadway, rolled, and caught fire as it came to a rest.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was a resident of Emsdale, Ontario.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
Police say speed was a contributing factor and driver impairment has not yet been ruled out.
A postmortem is scheduled for Monday in Toronto.

This is the city’s seventh traffic fatality of 2021.
