Driver hospitalized after vehicle hits hydro pole in Ancaster

A man was hospitalized on Friday after his vehicle left the road and struck a hydro pole in Ancaster.

Hamilton police say the incident happened shortly after 4 p.m. while the man was driving westbound on Wilson Street West.

Officers say he is currently in critical but stable condition.

Two other passing cars sustained minor damage from the fallen hydro pole, but police say no other injuries were reported.

Officers say the affected stretch of the Ancaster street remained closed for several hours as they conducted their investigation.
