Driver charged in death of Burlington man at Cayuga racetrack

A man has been charged in connection with a death at a Cayuga racetrack last year.

A man was struck by a vehicle at the Toronto Motorsports Park racetrack the afternoon of Sept. 20.

The 59-year-old Burlington man, later identified as Richard Ennest, died in hospital.

Police say a race was about to start and vehicles were approaching the starting line when Ennest, who was involved in the event, was struck.

Police say 68-year-old John Robinson of Clearview Township has now been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
