Driver arrested for stunt driving

On Thursday April 7 , around 10:00am, Hamilton police was in the area of Wellington Street North and Barton Street East conducting traffic-related enforcement.

An officer was driving an unmarked police car and observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Wellington Street North and accelerating.

The officer received information that the vehicle’s speed was reaching 110km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and a 50-year-old man from Hamilton was charged with stunt driving. His licence was seized and his vehicle towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.

The man will appear in court at a later date to answer to this charge.
