Driver arrested after crashing stolen vehicle, knocking down hydro pole on Hamilton Mountain

The driver of a stolen vehicle is in custody after colliding with another car and knocking down a hydro pole on Hamilton Mountain Friday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. on Rymal Road East near Upper Gage Avenue.

Police say the driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested at the scene. Officers have not yet shared what charges the driver will face.

Paramedics brought both drivers to hospital with minor injuries.

Rymal Road East was closed between Upper Gage and Grayrocks avenues as city workers repaired the hydro pole. The area has since reopened.
