Dracula Untold

Dracula Untold is a fantasy adventure film directed by first time feature filmmaker Gary Shore. The film tells the origin story of the vampiric count. Luke Evans stars as Vlad the Impaler, the early Romanian ruler that fought against the invasion of the Ottomans. Vlad and the legends of vampires served as inspiration for Bram Stoker’s classic novel. The film also stars Sarah Gadon, William Houston, Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Ferdinand Kingsley, Charlie Cox, Thor Kristjansson, and Charles Dance.

With Dracula Untold, Universal Pictures is hoping to launch a Marvel-like franchise reboot of their Universal Monsters stable which includes such classic horror figures as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Universal hasn’t released many details on the reboot yet, but they did announce that Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will develop the future film universe, starting with a reboot of the Mummy franchise. Kurtzman is set to direct that film, with a release date slated for June 24, 2016.
