The OPP have released details on what they call the largest child pornography bust in Canadian history.

Officers from 23 different police services were part of a sweep last night. 213 Charges have been laid, and 60 arrests have been made.
Police used technology to locate several computer addresses and identify the suspects. Those charged include three youths.

OPP Detective-Sergeant Frank Goldschmidt says “They come from all walks of life, all occupations. Care workers… I think a daycare worker was arrested this time again. And all different age groups as well.”

Charges include sexual assault, child luring, possession of child pornography, making child pornography and accessing child pornography online.

Acting commissioner Scott Tod: “Child pornography is the sexual abuse of children, every image of child pornography represents a child victim. Every trading or transmission of that image represents re-victimization of that child.”

So far, 22 victims have been identified.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and there could be more arrests.
