Downtown dog attack in Hamilton sends 2 people to hospital

Hamilton police say two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries Tuesday afternoon following an apparent dog attack near the downtown GO Station.

Police say they received a call shortly after noon about the incident in the area of the GO Station located at 36 Hunter St.

There were no dogs in the area when officers arrived, but witnesses say they saw a woman with two dogs. The larger of the two dogs reportedly bit three separate people.

Police say a 20-year-old man was bitten on the hip, while a 32-year-old woman suffered bites in the left triceps and right calf.

Hamilton paramedics say the two people were in stable condition when they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say animal control were alerted of the incident and attended the scene.

Investigators say they’re working on a description of the woman with the dogs.
