Double murder confirmed

New details on the deaths of billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman. Police are now saying it was murder.
“Honey and Barry Sherman were last seen alive in the evening hours of Wednesday Dec. 13, 2017. Neither of the two had communicated with family, friends or associates from that time frame until their discovery on Friday Dec. 15th.” Det. Susan Gomes, Toronto police.
Police say the couple was found in the basement of their home by a real estate agent. Their bodies were found, legs outstretched in a seated position, fully clothed, hanging by belts near an indoor pool. A coroner ruled the couple had died from a ligature neck compression.
A team of private investigators hired by the Sherman’s four children, allege both Barry and Honey were killed. Their findings were made public last weekend. Toronto police were not willing to comment on a motive today.
Police say the reason it took six weeks to come to their decision was because of the volume of evidence they had to go through. They’ve taken 127 witness statements and viewed at least two thousand hours of security video from the neighbourhood.
The Sherman’s released a statement saying the ruling of double homicide by Toronto police was expressed by the family from the outset and is consistent with the findings of the independent autopsy and investigation. The family continues to support the Toronto police service in their efforts to seek justice for their parents and pursue those responsible for these unspeakable crimes.
