Double celebration in New York

Thousands celebrate gay pride and new law


Hundreds of thousands of people participated or came out to watch New York City’s Annual Gay Pride Parade.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says his state has shown the rest of the U-S that it’s time for marriage equality.
Cuomo made the comment before leading today’s gay pride parade through Manhattan.
Friday night, the governor signed into law a measure making same-sex marriage legal in New York.
That’s made for a double celebration at the parade.
