Donut shop returns accidental tip worth thousands

The staff of a St. Catharines doughnut shop were stunned after a customer left a tip that topped $2 500.

Thinking that the generous tip was a mistake, the owners of Beechwood Doughnuts enlisted the help of their social media following to identify the mystery customer. They wrote on their Facebook page asking, “if anyone knows of a super cute, friendly lady who just so happened to get doughnuts on Wednesday January 10th. That they’d like to give her, her money back”

It happened when the woman went to pay for her order using the debit machine and the staff think she may have accidentally entered in her pin when it prompted her for a tip. As it turns out, the transaction was a mistake and the woman quickly contacted the business about a refund.
