They’ve been performing, since 1962. And since that time — they’ve somehow re-invented themselves for four different generations. You might know them from television — or from broadway or from ‘Dancing with the Stars. But chances are — somewhere along the line, you’ve heard of Donny and Marie Osmond.

It’s hard to believe they’ve been performing for 50 years

Donny: “You have to keep breaking out — something new and different.”

And that’s what both Donny and Marie Osmond have done. Broadway, Las Vegas, nearly a hundred albums between them — and both took a turn, on Dancing with the Stars:

“I did it first! Ya, didn’t win.”

That trademark banter is just part of a sibling rivalry that — in the minds of many — has linked Donny and Marie incorrectly — as a single unit.

Marie: “We haven’t worked together in nearly 30 years.”

And the popular misconception that their smiles are permanently fixed — hides the reality that both have endure hard times, and severe depression. For Donny it was social anxiety and agoraphobia: “We’re just human beings — enjoy life.”

For Marie – severe post-partum depression and the suicide of her 18 year old son — took a severe toll: “To the many — you have to hang in there. And that determination and resilience has brought them to a new Christmas show — with new material — and a true appreciation for what their fans give to them.”

Donny and Marie will be bringing their own brand of energy to the Princess of Wales theatre December 9th to the 21st — tickets for the show go on sale — next Monday — June 9th.
