Dogs stolen at knifepoint in Toronto returned safely to owner

Toronto police say two dogs that were stolen at knifepoint have been safely returned.

On Thursday, Sept. 1, at around 11:00 p.m. the two dogs were being walked in the Yonge Street and Dundas Street area. The victim was confronted by a man and a woman not known to them. The man held a knife and took the victim’s dogs. The first dog was described as a Golden Brown Shih Tzu named “Mari” and the second dog is a black Scottish Terrier named “Yurield.”

On Friday, Sept. 9, police located both dogs in the area of Queen Street East and Bond Street.

Angela Dupuis, 36, of Toronto was arrested and charged with robbery with an offensive weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.

A man is still outstanding and officers continue to investigate. He is described as white, 30 to 40 years, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat and having multiple tattoos on his body including his neck. He may be riding a black bicycle.
