Dog walker finds kitten left in carrier in Grimsby park

A kitten who was left in a park in Grimsby is now being cared for by the Lincoln County Humane Society.
A dog walker found the tiny cat, who weighs less than one-kilogram, inside a carrier at Murray Street Park on Thursday.
The kitten has been named Midnight by humane society staff. They say the animal is healthy and in good shape.
“While black cats are sometimes difficult to re-home, dumping a kitten in a park, or anywhere other than bringing it to someone who can provide care, is unacceptable and cruel,” said Kevin Strooband, Executive Director of the Lincoln County Humane Society.
“Bring any unwanted pets to your local Humane Society or rescue for re-homing.”
The LCHS will care for Midnight. If an owner is not found in four days, she will be put up for adoption.
Anyone with information about how the cat ended up in the carrier at the park is asked to contact the humane society.
