A dog has been rescued after falling through the ice at Hamilton’s Princess Point on Thursday morning.
Police say the dog was not wearing a leash when it ran out about 50-feet from the shoreline and fell through the ice.
When rescuers arrived, they say the panicked owner was trying make their way across the ice to rescue the animal.
The owner was about 20-feet out when officers managed to bring them back to shore.
Hamilton Police Service Marine Unit used lines and a rescue sling to pull the animal to safety. They say the dog and it’s owner are both doing well.
Pleased to report both dog and owner are doing well. https://t.co/rd5ZTTbOMH
