Discipline for Durham cops’ tweet

Durham Regional Police says an officer who made inappropriate comments about Ontario’s Ombudsman on Twitter is facing disciplinary charges.
Earlier this month, Ombudsman Andre Marin received several tweets from an account identified as “Joe Mayo,” prior to a news conference he was holding on the shooting of 18-year-old Sammy Yatim by Toronto Police. Durham police say an internal investigation determined that the police officer behind the tweets was impersonating another officer. The officer in question is a Durham Regional Police Detective who remains on duty but has been removed from his current assignment.
