Discarded syringes found in field

Discarded syringes, pill bottles and other potentially hazardous trash have been cleaned from a field on Hamilton mountain, almost a week after the complaint was first made. Neighbours say they were concerned, because children often play in the area.
“Right around the corner is the elementary school I went to. Kids walk along here all the time and it’s not safe.”
Since the complaints Hamilton police have been doing more patrols in the area and neighbours say they haven’t seen the squatters recently. Hydro One has been mowing the swath of land it owns, but this taller grass is owned privately. The city says bylaw officers will follow up with the property owner and make sure the site is cleaned up.
