DiNovo: voters will “speak loudly at the ballot box”

Liberal premier Kathleen Wynne is expected to call five byelections for August 1st, and the NDP is hoping voters will send a clear message they’re tired of the current government’s ongoing scandals.
NDP MPP Cherio DiNovo cites the appointment of the former head of a teachers union to run for the Liberals in London as an example of a government that will do anything to cling to power.
“I think it’s somewhat shameful that you have a union leader running for an anti-union party. Union leader protests Bill 115, then runs for the party that brought it in; that’s for his membership to decide. I’m sure they will they have already spoken pretty loud on Facebook and Twitter and I think they’ll speak loudly at the ballot box too.”
The governing Liberals were one seat short of a majority government before five of their members resigned, so the outcome of the byelections will not change the balance of power in the legislature.
