Dieppe remembered

Seventy-one years ago Monday, thousands of Canadian soldiers stormed the beach at Dieppe, France, in an attempt to overthrow German occupiers. Hundreds died in a tragic defeat, but their lives were not lost in vain. Lessons learned at Dieppe led to victory on D-day. Lisa Hepfner was at a remembrance ceremony with some Dieppe vets, at their own Memorial Park in Hamilton Monday morning.
