Di Ianni attempts political comeback

The man who preceded Fred Eisenberger as mayor of Hamilton wants his old job back.

On Monday, Larry Di Ianni will announce he’s running in the 2010 municipal election.  
Di Ianni was first elected mayor of Hamilton in 2003 and served in the position until 2006.  That same year, he became the first public official to be found guilty of violating Ontario’s Municipal Elections act.  
Di Ianni was convicted of accepting illegal donations for his 2003 mayoral campaign.
