Detention Centre Incident

An incident Thursday involving a violent male inmate at the Niagara Detention Centre has left four people injured.

An inmate became violent and officers deployed pepper spray.

After the inmate was sprayed, he showed signs of medical distress.

The prisoner and two of the three staff who were injured in the encounter were taken to hospital.

None of the injuries are believed to be serious.
